British Standard Screw In Cylinders

Many insurance companies specify that screw in cylinders must comply with British Standards, with requires higher security features than are usually included in these cylinders. A screw in cylinder makes it easy to rekey a lock, as it can simply be unscrewed and replaced without altering any existing hardware. Removable cylinders also make it easy to switch between formats, such as keyed-alike and master-keyed. As long as cylinders are of the same length and cam profile, they are easily interchangeable.

The British Standard screw in cylinder locks supplied by easylocks meet British Standard regulations and have a kitemark logo. They all have at least 6 pins, and in the case of the CISA Astral Screw In Cylinder, 10 pins. Many of them, like the GEGE pExtra British Standard Screw In Cylinder, feature extra security features. These include a patented anti-bumping centering pin, patented branch groove to prevent copying, overlapping key profiles to prevent picking and a blocking pin to prevent unauthorised key useage.
