Cam Locks

Invented in the mid-1980s, cam locks are specifically designed to secure moveable levers in place to enhance security. They are a particularly popular choice as a window lock, as they hold the window opening handle securely in place. Other areas where this type of lock is commonly employed include lockable petty cash tins, filing cabinets and lockers. A cam security device provides a medium level of security and is primarily used on indoor fixtures and fittings.

The cam mechanism can be locked using either a flat key (in a similar style to a conventional door key) or a tubular key which has a rectangular or circular barrel. Normally constructed from durable materials by manufacturers such as Ronis, Maxus or Lowe & Fletcher, the locks are available in a wide range of finishes which enable them to blend attractively with a variety of décors. easylocks stocks a versatile selection of cam devices in several different sizes which can be used to add security to features made of various materials including timber, metal or UPVC.
