Door Chains

Fitted between door and frame, a door chain is a simple device offering increased security and peace of mind. The door can be opened a short distance to allow conversation or identity checking of a caller outside, yet the retaining chain would prevent the door being forced, and provides a visual deterrent. Typically the chain fits into a socket on the door frame with a sliding action, and a number of different designs are available.

Some door chains offer further security features, such as the ezlok door chain and bolt set, which incorporates a sturdy shoot bolt, or the Yale WS16 which features an integrated deadlock. The ERA 700 model has a concealed chain that is recessed into the doorframe, giving it a tidier appearance than other models. The use of a door chain mirror gives a clear view outside the door without releasing the chain. easylocks stocks a variety of door chains in brass or chrome finishes.
