Garage Door Locks & Handles
Garage door locks and handles are used as replacements for original handles fitted to garage doors. Most handles have a locking mechanism operated by a key that prevents the handle from turning when locked. The majority of handles are designed to be a direct replacement for specific designs supplied by particular manufacturers and are not readily interchangeable with handles fitted to other doors. Methods of operation include a rotary action to release the door and a push action. For electrically operated doors, there are lockable switch handles. Emergency door releases can be fitted to locks to allow the doors to be opened from inside.
Handles are available for doors manufactured by Henderson, Marley, Maxus, Garador, Gliderol, Cardale, Bonsack, and Winlock as well as several universal conversion kits. Medium-security replacement locks can be used to replace lower specification lockable handles. Enfield supply a side-mounted lockable barrel-bolt lock that uses secure cruciform keys, and ezlock has several cylindrical multi-pin activators. High-security floor- and wall-mounted solutions include the Bulldog garage door bolts and the PJB Garage Door Defender. A range of cables, roller wheels, spindles, cones, and other door spares is available at easylocks.
