Mortice Locks

Mortice Locks

A mortice lock is a metal plate which is screwed into place in a small pocket in a door. This common type of lock is connected to lock trim, such as a doorknob, door handle or lever, to allow for easy opening and closing of the door. Sprung latch systems work well on standard doors, while dead locks are used for doors which need to be securely locked. Mortice locks are installed with strike plates, which are designed to precisely line-up the hole in the door with the lock bolt.

Mortice locks are available in two British standard sizes; small or large. They can be chosen to complement the decor and other existing fittings in the home, as they come in a range of finishes, including polished brass, satin aluminum, satin chrome and chrome plated. Master keyed mortice lock systems will allow owners to have complete control and access over all of the locks in the home or workplace. easylocks is an authorized retailer of a range of mortice locks from some of the most trusted brands in the industry, such as Arco Locks, EZ Locks and Bramah and Briton Hardware.
