Multipoint Lock Gearboxes

The multipoint locking gearbox, fitted inside the door, is the operating mechanism for the multipoint lock fitted to UPVC doors. When the lock fails, it is easier and cheaper to replace and install a new gearbox rather than fitting a complete new multipoint lock. The gearbox is supplied without a locking cylinder, striker plates, or operating levers as these are usually in good condition. Most lock gearboxes are not interchangeable and there are critical dimensions that need to be noted before ordering. These dimensions are the distance from the front plate to the centre of the lock hole and the distance between the centre of the handle shaft and the lock hole. Other important dimensions are the overall height and depth of the unit, the type of locking mechanism used, and the distance between the latch and deadlock.

easylocks stock multipoint locking gearboxes from manufacturers including ABT Gibbons, Fullex, GU, Kenrick, Lockmaster, Maco, Mila,Winkhaus and Fuhr. When selecting a lock, take note of the make, the type of latch and deadlock fitted, and the critical dimensions referred to above. Care should be taken to distinguish between similar looking gearboxes as these may not be interchangeable.
