Rim Cylinders | Locks

Although there are many different brands available, rim cylinder locks are colloquially referred to as 'Yale locks' and are typically fitted to a nightlatch on external doors. They open from the outside with a key and are lever operated internally. Generally built to a standard size, many rim cylinder locks are interchangeable between nightlatches, making them suitable for replacing compromised locks if a key is lost, or to upgrade the security level. They can be supplied keyed alike, keyed to differ, or masterkeyed.

Standard rim locks usually feature a 5 lever mechanism, although there are models offering enhanced security, for example the 2000+ Premier Restricted range and the GeGe pExtra Anti Bump British Standard Rim Cylinder, which both conform to BS EN1303 and offer patented key systems which cannot be copied. Other models are available from manufacturers like Yale, Maxus, Era, and Legge, some including anti-drill and anti-pick features. easylocks can provide rim cylinder locks to suit a range of applications and budgets.
