Window Swing Locks
Window swing locks can be fitted to metal or wooden framed casement windows, depending on the type. They feature a swing-action clasp which can be locked and unlocked by a simple screw turn using the supplied key. Additional anchoring points give the window frame more resistance to forcing as well as the added benefit that by drawing the frames tighter together, draughts of air are also reduced, improving energy efficiency.
A window swing lock comprises two main parts: a hasp attached to the fixed frame, and the pivot lock on the opener. Suitable locks for metal framed windows include the Era 903 and the Yale 8K106 (previously branded as Chubb), both of which are supplied as pairs, with a matching key and all fixings. The Era 809 is intended for wooden frames and is supplied singly.
