When radiators begin to remain cool at the top whilst still being warm the bottom, the most common cause is a build-up of air in the radiator which is limiting the flow of warm water. To remedy this, the valve at the top of the radiator needs to be opened using a special radiator key which will allow the trapped air to be dispersed. This is known as bleeding the radiator and is a common maintenance procedure in radiators of all types and in all locations.
easylocks provides a standard square bottomed radiator key (bleed key) in a choice of brass or alloy finish. Both keys will fit most standard radiator types and are the correct tool to allow effective radiator bleeding. Because they are small and consequently easy to lose, keys are provided in a pair to maximise the chances of one always being available when needed. A necessity to ensure that both domestic and commercial radiator heating systems perform effectively, radiator keys from easylocks are an essential addition to any maintenance tool kit.
